Are you sick of hearing that from every marketing guru already? If you’ve answered yes, I am sick of hearing that, then it’s probably because you are struggling to grow your email list.

 
Am I right?

 
Adding qualified leads to your email list is equally as hard as finding new clients, really it’s one and the same.

 
Your email list is the lifeblood of your business. Your profits and cash flow are directly proportional to your lead list and the number of irresistible offers you make each month.

 
100 subscribers and no monthly offer = no monthly profit.

 
How many offers do you make each month right now?

 
Before I dive into the 3 tips to increase your email subscribers let me ask you a couple of questions that will hopefully create a mindset shift and get you thinking about your email list in a totally different way.

 
Answer these questions:

Would you go 3 months without checking in with your ‘real life clients’?

Would you go 1 month without talking to your best friend?

If you had a consult and the person didn’t buy, but seemed interested, would you not follow up a month later?

 
If you wouldn’t go 3 months without checking in on your clients, go 1 month without talking to your BFF and would follow up several times with an interested prospect then…

 
Why are you not emailing to your email list of prospects on a consistent and regular basis?

 
The emails on your list are attached to real live people who’ve already raised their hand and said yes, I want more information from you, please send it my way.

Our job as the professional is to educate and offer our expertise to help transform lives… when the prospect is ready they will take you up on the offer. They can’t take you up on the offer if one is never (or hardly) made.

I’m often asked, “What do I write about each week?” Make a list of 12 singular topics you could easily write 250-500 words about without having to do any research. The topics could be related to a holiday, the time of year, a personal experience, a trending topic in the media, a supplement, food tips, grocery store tips, health washing, a health conversation you had, how to prepare your meals ahead of time, the best salad dressings to eat and how to eat well while on a vacation.

 
HINT: I just gave you 12 topics (no excuse now).

 
The easiest way to consistently send out emails is to schedule one 8-hour day and write 2 months’ (8) emails all in one shot. Tactfully infuse an offer into each email, tying the offer to the content you’ve just written about.

Example: Email topic – 5 Time Saving Food Tips For Busy People

 
Offer: Are you struggling to plan your meals ahead of time and wish someone would just tell you what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat?

 
Would you like me to create a personalized plan for you and share some quick and delicious recipes that you can make with only 5 to 7 ingredients?

This offer is something that would go at the bottom of the email or blog post. Please don’t expect that a prospect reading your email or blog will just know to hit reply and ask you for more information. That rarely happens.

 
So now that I’ve covered how to make an offer let’s dive into how to grow your email list.

 

Tip # 1: PROMOTE your free opt in offer regularly

This might seem a like DUH, no brainer activity but are you doing it? Are you actually promoting your opt in offer every couple of days?  You can create a promotion schedule with an excel spreadsheet so you can track when you promote your offer.

 
Using this spreadsheet you can also track the headline you use to pitch your offer, where you promoted it and how many people opted in.

 

Tip # 2: Have an opt in box on the home page of your website

I’m still surprised how many people don’t include an opt in box right on their homepage. You can create an opt in box in about 5 minutes with any email marketing platform.

 
If you don’t know how to put the code on your own site then hire someone from Fiverr.com or odesk.com for about $10 to do it for you.

 
You want to be capturing your website visitors every chance you get and without an opt in box promoting your free offer on the homepage of your website you won’t be able to do that.

 

Tip # 3: Create new opt in offers every 2-3 months

People get bored of seeing the same thing over and over again. Create seasonal opt in offers or a new short-term challenge for people to follow. Keep your content fresh, updated and relevant to the time of year.

 
An example could be 15 Summertime Slimming Cocktail and Mocktail Recipes or a 7 Minute Daily Yoga Practice Video.

 
No one likes watching re-runs on TV or re-reading last month’s magazines. It’s important for your business to stay relevant and at the top of your follower’s mind with new opt in offers and trending content.
